An aspect of e learning that causes many students to receive poor grades in e learning courses is the fact that the open learning format means that students must have the discipline to complete readings, assignments, and prepare for tests independently. Many students actually benefit from attending class and will procrastinate when faced with an open learning experience. One complaint many students have concerning e learning courses is the degree of isolation that is involved as compared to a traditional classroom.
